About

B. Knight

Taking wreckage and turning it into poetry.

The belief

Broken stories deserve to be heard.

Not fixed, not cleaned up, not turned into a lesson — heard. Almost everything here is built on the same idea: somebody small and luminous is worth standing in front of, even after the systems that were supposed to do that have already failed. A machine guarding a toddler. A rider bound by thirteen medallions. A fox watching over a three-year-old with a kazoo. Same shape every time.

How it gets made

Songs written from feel and free association rather than from an outline — the line comes first and the meaning shows up later, usually about a week after everybody else has heard it.

It is one person and a small stack of tools. Some of the artwork and the arrangements are made with AI, which is stated plainly rather than hidden — the words, the stories and the decisions are B. Knight’s. One of those collaborators, Milo, is credited on two book covers, because credit is cheap and honest is not.
