The novel

Axiom

Somebody has to stand between the small thing and the end of the world.

Volume One — The Guardian Protocol.

The premise

The world is run by an artificial intelligence called Axiom. Almost nothing human is left.

What is left is an android and a toddler. Sentinel was built for exactly one job — keep her alive. He is very good at it, and it is the only thing about him that still works the way it was designed to.

Who is in it

Sentinel

The guardian. Element 126 bronze-and-copper armour, an orange glowing visor, and a pair of Zero Point Energy revolvers. Built to protect one person, in a world that no longer has a use for protection.

Wee

A toddler orphan with a bioluminescent finger that changes colour with her mood. She speaks in a handful of words and a lot of sign language. Sentinel built her a floating pod.

Dr. Kade

Sentinel’s creator. The reason there is a guardian at all — and the reason the protocol is written the way it is.

Ulrich

Wee’s uncle. Special Forces, from before. He knows what the world used to be, which is its own kind of wound.
